We intuitively go towards any tension or pain we experience, rubbing it, pressing it, cradling it, in many different ways. Acupressure refines this intuitive way of meeting and lessening discomfort using the natural flow of energy we all have. These flows of energy are called ‘meridians’. They are like channels and the organs they are connected to are the reservoirs. When blockages occur, we get out of synch. Using pressure, or touch etc, skilfully we can help to release the blockage and return to balance.

The meridians are paired, and the two we will be learning about during this first day on this subject are the Lung, yin, and Large Intestine, yang, meridians, Working with the Lung acupressure points to we can boost the immune system. Other points along the lung meridian,Lung 1, 5, and 7 are great for treating coughs. The Large Intestine acupressure points can help clear heat and pain in the body. other points reduce pain and help us to sleep.

Learning more about acupressure and self-massage we can prevent numerous health conditions from arising and cultivate inner harmony whilst connecting to the world around us.
